How to connect with migrant domestic workers on Facebook
Here are some tips for creating your Facebook posts to attract more migrant domestic workers!

Tip 1: Add more video contents
We found from research that migrant domestic workers have a high penetration of mobile use and they are more attracted to video content. Therefore, you should consider adding video content to your post. A nice feature to look at is Facebook Story. Facebook Story is a visual way to share stories. You could also consider adding subtitles in your beneficiaries' local languages. We found that migrant domestic workers tend to trust people who speak their home language.
Tip 2: Point to a solution in Facebook posts
You could for example list a few situations where migrant domestic workers are overcharged by the agency and use emotive language such as "If you ... then you have been overcharged". You should also point to a solution. This could be for example summarizing a list of steps they can go through to solve the problem. Remember to add call to action statements.



Tip 3: Use hashtags
You could put the topic or theme of your post in hashtags. This creates a nice referencing and some people do find things by hashtags. When people browser quickly, hashtags could also earn you some chance for them to read your post. Usually 1 to 3 hashtags is recommend, too many hashtags may make your post look spammy.
Tip 4: Tell people to share your post
Please don't be shy to ask people to share your post. This does increase the chance of sharing. You could add something like "If this helps you, please share it". Migrant domestic workers are very community-driven. This means that if 1 MDW shares your post, his/her friends will also see it. This helps to to reach more MDWs.
